UPS/Kohler complete purchase of Woodgate, Hook

24 May 2012

Uninterruptable Power Supplies Ltd (UPS) a wholly owned subsidiary of Kohler Group, has acquired new UK headquarters Bartley Wood Business Park, Hook.

UPS Ltd is a leading provider of power protection product and service solutions including UPS, standby diesel generators, battery banks, switchgear, power conditioning equipment, software and ancillaries.

The company has purchased Woodgate, a 23,600 sq ft fully refurbished office building and will relocate its staff from its current offices at Calleva Park, Aldermaston in July.

Bartley Wood is an established business park of 43 acres, situated adjacent to Junction 5 of the M3 and is home to some major corporate occupiers including Virgin Media, HP, Lenovo, Serco, BMW and First Drinks.

Hollis Hockley and CBRE advised Wirral Borough Council, acting as the Administrating Authority for Merseyside Pension Fund.

Andrew Newman partner at Hollis Hockley said "In the current climate, where Freeholds can be secured at competitive prices, we are witnessing an increasing amount of activity from occupiers who are keen to secure their costs in the short to medium term - with the added benefit of potential capital growth in the longer term.  He added "The occupational market for office space continues to be challenging, however, this is the second very significant Freehold owner occupier transaction in which Hollis Hockley have been involved in recent months. Total take up in the two transactions in Basingstoke and Hook amounts to just under 80,000 sq ft of office space".
